In this image made available Friday Oct. 9, 2009, by the British Ministry of Defence, Private Daniel Britton holds the body armour which saved his live when he was shot in the chest by the Taliban. This was just one of the times he had a brush with death, for the British trooper who has been branded a 'lucky idiot', by his comrades, after cheating death in Afghanistan three times. The 22-year old Private, from Nantwich, Cheshire, said he is fortunate to be alive after an action-packed six month stint in the Helmand Province of Afghanistan. During his six month tour of duty Britton has nearly drowned, he contracted dysentery, had a bullet brush past his head, and then was shot in the chest by the Taliban during a separate strike and was saved by his body armor. Britton and the rest of his unit are due to return to their British barracks soon.
